Dr Stephen Thorpe, of the Computer and Information Sciences Research Centre at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), has announced the official Call for Papers for the upcoming Project Management Research Symposium 2025, to be held on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at the AUT City Campus in Auckland, New Zealand.
This year’s symposium will focus on advancing knowledge and practice in IT, agile, engineering and construction project management.
The symposium invites research paper and poster contributions from postgraduate students, academic researchers, and project management professionals whose work explores new frontiers in the discipline. The event is designed to foster dialogue across academia and industry, spotlighting current research, emerging trends, and practical insights into complex project delivery environments.
The 2025 symposium will feature three core research tracks:
Dr Thorpe emphasised the importance of the symposium as a “collaborative space for project management scholars and professionals to contribute to the development of evidence-based practices and to connect across disciplines.”
Submissions must include a title, abstract (up to 300 words), track preference, presenter details, and either an A1 research poster or full paper (maximum 10 pages including references).

Selected submissions will be considered for fast-track publication in the Journal of New Zealand Project Management.
