PhD student W.K. Darsha, from the AUT CISRC, participated in the 36th Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS 2025) at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) Moreton Bay Campus in Queensland, Australia, held from 3–5 December 2025. The conference brought together researchers and practitioners in Information Systems to share peer-reviewed research and explore emerging trends in computing, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (acis.aaisnet.org).
Supported by CISRC, Darsha presented the paper “A Lightweight MLP‑Based Fall Detection System for Wearable Devices” in the Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence track. The research advances fall-detection technology with a lightweight machine-learning design suitable for real-time monitoring on resource-constrained wearable devices, offering significant potential for healthcare and assisted-living applications. Participation also provided opportunities to network with international researchers, exchange ideas, and strengthen global academic connections.
